Vintage ceramic / piezoelectric phono cartridge marked THOMSON STC 10 S. This stereo model has three electrical contacts and was fitted to a range of French record players.
Confirmed for equipment originally fitted with a strictly identical Thomson STC 10 S cartridge.
This cartridge is also documented in record players sold under the Thomson, Ducretet-Thomson, La Voix de son Maître, France Platine, Pathé, Pathé Marconi, Marconi, Melodyne and Hifivox names. The equipment reference and mounting must still be compared before ordering.
STC 41, STC 47, STC-S and STC 1000 S cartridges are reported as using a related body. Depending on the carrier, adapting the small upper tab may be necessary. Treat these cartridges as interchangeable only after checking the mounting, height and wiring.
The stylus associated with the STC 10 S is commonly referenced as STC7, reference 9264, available as a sapphire or diamond tip for 33 and 45 rpm microgroove records. The corresponding Tonar family is 157 / 157-DS.
