This reference is a true elliptical version on a nude diamond, offering superior playback quality.

Technical Information:
N44 and N55 type styli are compatible and can be mounted on SHURE M44 (various variants) and M55(E) type cartridges. However, there are key differences between an N44E and an N55E:

• The original N44E features an elliptical tip with 10 x 18 µ radii (.0004" x .0007") and a recommended tracking force setting of 1.75 to 4 g. It can be identified by its brown plastic body. It is highly versatile (Hi-Fi, radio, disco).
• The original N55E has a 5 x 18 µ (.0002" x .0007") elliptical tip with a recommended tracking force setting between 0.75 and 2 g. It is recognizable by its creamy yellow plastic body and is dedicated to Hi-Fi use only.

High-quality aftermarket styli generally respect these technical specifications.
